Days until Halloween: 51
Most people want to travel the world at some stage in their lives. But unfortunately you are probably still too young to do so on your own. As such. You will simply have to make due with a fantastic around the world party for yourself and your friends. Below you will find all the details necessary to host a successful around the world event. But first, a little more about our topic.
Just in case you didn't know, traveling around the world has amazed many people throughout the ages, including one writer named Jules Verne. In fact, he was so taken by the idea that he wrote a book about it called Around the World in 80 Days of which the hero is Mr. Phileas Fogg.
The story goes that Mr. Fogg had to
travel the world as fast as he possible could to make the trip in 80
days. Now back then they didn't have airplanes and he had to rely on
other methods to make his trip. This could have been anything,
including a hot air balloon, a train and ships. Here's a list of his
various destinations:
London to Suez
Suez to Bombay
Bombay to Calcutta
Hong Kong to Yokohama
Yokohama to San Francisco
San Francisco to New York
New York to London
But this is just a story that was written quite long ago. For the purpose of your party you can think up your own countries that you would like to see at your event. And that being said, it's time for us to get down to business and organize that party!
Below you will find some useful ideas
for Around The World Party invitations. Should you require any of the

purchasing them from a retail store in your area or from the

Additional information…
It's time to go around the world with your party and as such it would only be fitting to design an invitation that will reflect the theme of your party.
For this invitation you will need a computer loaded with the appropriate software as well as a printer. If you don't have a printer, ask a friend if you can use theirs otherwise just have a look on the internet.
To start off you will need an image of some of the wonders of the world. These are as follows:
Giza pyramid complex
Great Wall of China
Machu Picchu
Angkor Wat
Bagan Temples & Pagodas
Karnak Temple
Teotihuacán
For more of the wonders of the world, just do a search on the internet.
Now, as soon as you have all the wonders of the world you'll have to arrange them accordingly. For this purpose you might want to use an image editing program like The Gimp or Photoshop, among others.
Once your images have been arranged, add the details of your party to the reverse side or inside of your invitation. If you are having trouble with the layout, just use a template which can be found in most word processors or on the internet.
When you're done with the whole design, simply have it printed and get ready to deliver your invitations.
As you may well know, the Giza pyramid complex is one of the seven wonders of the world and is something a lot of people see at least once in their life.
For this invitation you will need some paper mache, a pyramid wire frame, some cling film and some paint. If you need any of these items or any help just ask your parents.
To start of you will have to make a pyramid shape with the wire (remember, a pyramid has four sides). If you are having trouble bending the wire, just ask your parents for help. When done, cover the wire frame tightly with several layers of cling film (material would do fine as well). Next up you will have to apply the paper mache to form a solid shell around your pyramid frame. We'd recommend applying a first, thin layer to act as support for the other layers (too much weight on the cling film might cause the paper mache to slip off).
When all the layers have been applied, use a sharp object and carve out the various blocks in the pyramid. Use an image from a book or the internet as an example to see how exactly this is done.
As soon as you are finished, use some brown paint to color your pyramids. When the paint has dried, paint a couple of world flags on the pyramid as well as the details of your party.
When the last layer of paint has been applied, get ready to deliver your pyramids.
For your flags of the world invitation you will need... flags of the world. This invitation is for those who wish their friends to come as someone from a different country.
Now, what you will need to do is get a small flag for each country you wish to represent at your party. These flags can be bought at the appropriate local retailer or from the internet.
Once you have the flags, either attach a formal party invitation to the flag itself or write/print the details of your party on the flag. Remember to ask your friends under 'Information' as well as 'dress code' to represent the flag you will be getting them.
If you are planning to have a party
where all your friends come as someone from a different part of the
world, you will have to state it on your invitation under dress code.
Examples include “Traditional Chinese”, “Traditional Japanese”,
“Dutch”, “French”, etc.
Here are a couple of decorations to
consider for your Around The World Party. If you aren’t planning
on making them yourself, then just ask your parents to help you
purchase them from the appropriate retailer in your are or from the
internet.

There’s nothing like a good party
activity to ensure that a great time is had by all. Below are a
couple of ideas which you can use and change as you want to suit the
purposes of your party.
To play this game you will be needing an Around the World quiz set. These simply consist of questions and answers and can be obtained from any toy store or from the internet. If you are not in a position to buy a quiz set, simply go down to your local library or do some research on the internet to make your own questions and answer sets.
Now as you may know, the purpose of this game is to answer as many questions right. The team that succeeds obviously wins.
To add a twist to the game, see which
team can come up with the funniest realistic answers.
Whether you're only a couple of friends together or a large group of people, this game is sure to be a hit! For best effects, this game is preferably played over a large area.
One participant has to be selected as Mr. Fogg and all the others have to be equipped with water baloons or squirt guns. Once someone has been decided upon all players have to go into hiding and count to 100. After 100 has been reached, all the other players have to look for Mr. Fogg without being seen by one another - if you see someone else looking for Mr. Fogg, then you have to use the water balloon or squirt gun to evict that person from the current round.
Should someone find Mr. Fogg person they will be able to hide with that person and will be immune from round eviction. The first person to find Mr. Fogg will be the him for the next round.
Movies From Around the World
How many movies do you know that portray other cultures? Kung-fu movies are one, anime is another. There are in fact many brilliant movies from other cultures that everyone can enjoy.
Make it your purpose to go to your local video store before the party
and rent a couple of movies that you know you and your friends will
enjoy.
The game is started by laying out the towels (in full length but minimal width) about a foot away from each other with the last towel placed two feet away from the second-to-last one. When done they should resemble long worms stretched out on the ground.
The rules of the games are as such: each participant gets the chance to do one length. This is done by running over the towels and taking care not to step on any of them. When all the participants have run the initial length, the towels have to be moved apart another foot and everyone gets another go.
The trick of the game is to only have one foot between any two towels
at all times. If more then one foot touches the ground between any
two towels, that person is out. Should a towel be stepped on, that
person is out as well.
Well, luckily this is an easy subject to tackle as you will simply have to go on the search engine of your choice and search for snacks of your choice. Examples of search phrases include: “Chinese Snack Recipes”, “British Snack Recipes”, etc.
