Are you a fan of Disney movies? If so, then this party is especially for you. Below you will find all the tips and information you will need to organize the successful event and impress all your friends. But before we get to that, just a little more about Disney and some of its films.
Just in case you didn't know, Disney is more formally known as the Walt Disney Company and was founded by Roy and Walt Disney on October 16th, 1923 (a long time ago!). Today it is one of the biggest Hollywood studios with theme parks, merchandise and office around the world. So how did it grow to be such a big enterprise? Well, the answer lies in the films it makes, some of which we will have a quick look at now...
Chicken Little
Released in 2005, it was the first CGI film released by Disney and tells the story of a little chick that is, well, little - but has very bid dreams and isn't afraid.
If you haven't watched the film yet then you will only need to know that it starts off with a piece of what looks like the sky falls on Chicken Little's head. Afraid that the rest of the sky will fall, he runs up a tower and rings the town bell to tell everyone that the sky is falling. Naturally it doesn't and everyone thinks he is crazy.
The story then continues to reveal that Chicken Little isn't crazy at all, but that it isn't the sky falling, but something else... which you will have to find out for yourself by watching the film.
The Chronicles Of Narnia - The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Also a 2005 film, The Chronicles of Narnia is an adaptation of a book by C.S. Lewis. It tells the story of four British children who are evacuated to the country side during the period of World War II. In the house they stay in they find a wardrobe, but not just any old wardrobe. This one leads to a different world called Narnia where there is some conflict brewing between the Lion Aslan and the White Witch.
The four children then take part in the events that shape the destiny of the place called Narnia.
Can you think of any Disney films we
haven't listed? We're pretty sure you can as there are many, many
more and all of them are brilliant! Right now, however, it is time to
party! So get your notebook and pen ready and let's begin organizing!
Below you will find some useful ideas
for Disney Party invitations. Should you require any of the materials
or items necessary, just ask your parents to help by purchasing them
from a retail store in your area or from the internet. And remember,
including the following information in your invitation will ensure
that your guests will have all the information they need.
Party Name:
Salutation:
Date & Time
Venue/Location
Dress Code
Contact Details
Additional information…
This is an easy invitation to make and will be something that your friends can use over and over again.
For this invitation you will need to get a plain color t-shirt for each of the friends you plan to invite. In addition, you will need to compile a suitable design for your party. Remember to combine the name of your party with the layout of your design to make it look professional. Also be sure that you have the sufficient permission if you are planning on using Disney images.
Once you have everything, take the
t-shirts and your design to your local screen printing firm and let
them do their think.
From your local toy store or the appropriate on line retailer, get each of your friends a fitting Disney glow in the dark character. Once you have these, design or buy a fitting invitation card on which you can write the details of your party.
When you have all the items, simply
attach the card to the character and get ready to deliver them. This
way your party can be the last thing your friends think of before
they go to sleep.
Using your computer, design a movie
poster of your favorite Disney characters. Be sure to use the name of
your party as the title of the poster and the details of your party
as the credits. When you're done, simply have it printed out. For
those of you who wish to print it actual size (like you see at the
movies), pay a visit to your local printing firm and make use of
their services. If you need any help here, just ask your parents to
assist you.
For your Disney party dress code, you
will first have to decide on a particular Disney movie. However, if
your friends can come as any Disney character, then you will simply
have to state it as such under the “Dress Code” section of your
invitations.
Disney party decorations are plentiful
and available in most retail stores where Disney merchandise is sold
or even on the Internet. Below are a couple of ideas that you will be
able to use for your Disney-themed party.
Castle backdrop (hung against a wall)
Disney tablecloth
Disney plates and cups
Disney Posters – The Little Mermaid, Wall-E, etc.
Balloons & Streamers
If you are having a party where your
guests can come as any character from any Disney movie, then why not
receive your guests at the door and announce to everyone present who
they are and which Disney character they are will be for the duration
of your party.
As Disney is such a wide theme, it
would be hard to mention any specific party favor that your friends
will enjoy. As such, it would be wise if you paid a visit to your
local Disney merchandise retailer or had a look on the internet for
the appropriate items. However, if you are stuck for some basic
ideas, then why not consider any of the following:
Stickers
Mugs
T-Shirts
Frisbees
Jewelery
Books
DVD
Puzzles
Party activities make the party and
ensure that a good time is had by all. Here are a couple of ideas for
party games that you and your friends will be able to enjoy together.
Ready for some great and creative fun? Well then this is for you!
Get together with your friends at the party and write your own Disney movie where all the characters present (in other words everyone at your party) feature and play an important part. If you don't quite know how to write a story or how the plot should go, then just ask your parents for some help.
As soon as you have finished writing the story, rehearse your script with your friends until you feel you have got it pat. Remember, it needn't be a long story, just one that features all the people at the party and one with a happy ending (if you need some evil characters, just ask your parents if they will step in to be the bad guys as we're sure all your friends would like to be on the good guy's side).
And finally, when it's performance time, make sure that the video
recorder is at the ready as copies of the recording will make
excellent party favors for your friends.
Think you know your Disney do you? Well if so, then take the time to test yourself and your friends.
Disney trivia sets are available from most toy stores or from the
internet. And just in case you don't feel like buying a trivia set,
then just make your own by doing a little research on the internet.
It is a Disney party and therefore it will be suitable to watch as many cool Disney films as you possibly can! If your friends have any Disney films at home, ask them to bring it along. Otherwise all you will need to do is pop down to your local DVD store or look on the internet and buy those that you think appropriate (if you need any help, just ask your parents).
And for those who would like to make a weekend event of it, remember
to state it as such on your invitations.
After eating, acting, answering questions and watching as many Disney films as you can, it's time to go outside and run around for a bit.
This is a game like follow the leader, but with a Disney twist. Someone has to be selected as the initial leader to run in front. The others have to run behind him or her in a single line and do exactly what they do. But, the leader has to stay in character! That means that if one of your friends came as Sebastian the Crab from The Little Mermaid, then they have to act like Sebastian the whole time while they are the leader.
When the leader gets tired he or she has to shout “Disney” and fall to the back of the line, at which stage the person who was second in line now has to be the leader.
As for food and drink, serve something you know everyone will enjoy. Here are a couple of ideas that are easy to make or can be bought ready-made:
