It's almost time for Easter and that means it's once again a time to organize a party for you and your friends to enjoy. Below you'll find a couple of ideas which you can use and change at your own will to ensure that you and your friends have one of the most amazing and fun times ever. But first, a little more about Easter.
Easter is a celebration of those few days of Jesus Christ's crucifixion and his resurrection, the latter falling on Easter Sunday and the former on Good Friday. But did you know that Easter spans a far longer period than three days? In the old days the Easter season, also known as 'Easter tide', spanned forty days from Easter Day until Ascension Day. Nowadays, however, it lasts for ten more days until Pentecost.
But there is a little more to Easter than the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Easter falls on what is known as the "vernal equinox", which is that time of year in Spring (near March 21st) when night and day has the same length. Now in ancient cultures, this meant a time of happiness as the warmer seasons drew closer. As such, they established a couple of symbols for this time of year, many of which had been incorporated into Easter celebrations. Here are a couple of examples:
Easter Eggs & Newborn Chicks: Where the egg symbolizes the promise of new life (and also the tomb from which Jesus Christ emerged, the newborn chicks are that new life, just like blossoms in Spring.
Easter Bunny: Many ancient cultures saw the rabbit as a symbol of fertility.
Easter Clothes: Has anyone ever asked
you to wear your newest and best clothes at Easter? New clothes and
Easter hats symbolizes new life.
Right, to start with, you will need a couple of invitations. These are after all essential to any party as they let your friends know that they are invited (and gives them important details regarding your party – the date & time, place, etc,). If you need any of the items or materials we have mentioned, just ask your mom and dad to help you get them from the appropriate local retailer or off the internet.
Party Name: Take some time to think of a nice name for your Easter-themed party. An example would be “Sarah's Festive Easter Bash” or “Jimmy's Easter Fest”
Salutation:

Venue/Location

Additional information…
For this invitation you'll need the following things:
Paper Mache Mixture (enough for an invitation egg for as many people as you want to invite).
Balloons – one for each of the people you want to invite.
Paint – To decorate the egg with.
Now, when you have all the ingredients, inflate the balloons to an appropriate size – as large as you want your eggs to be. When that's done, simply use the mache to cover the balloon, taking care to maintain the easter egg shape. For the purposes of your egg's integrity, you'll want to ensure that you apply a number of layers of paper mache. Once you are satisfied, place them in a warm place to dry.
Now, using the paint, decorate the dried eggs with Easter patterns of
your choice. If you can't think of any Easter patterns, simply have a
look on the internet for some ideas. Once your egg is decorated and
the paint has dried, use a fine-tipped paintbrush and some golden
paint to add the details of your party.
Not in the mood to make your own party invitations? Well, if so, then don't worry, because all you'll need to do is ask your parents to take you to the appropriate store in your area where they will be able to help you buy Easter bunny ears – one for each person you want to invite. If you can't find them in your area, simply log on to the internet where you'll be able to find a wide variety.
Having acquired your Easter bunny ears, simply create a nice little invitation card to attach to the ears whilst taking care to mention all the details above.
Not in the mood for paper mache or bunny ears? Then this invitation might be just the thing you were looking for. And it will simply require you to go chocolate shopping! Be sure to use some creativity when you select the items so that they stand out. Think in terms of chocolate Easter bunnies, chocolate Easter eggs, chocolate carrots, etc.
Once you have all the chocolates, take care not to eat them yourself while you are making the card invitations. Remember to include all the necessary details as to ensure that your friends are fully informed.
Once done, simply go and deliver the invitations.
As said before, Easter is that time of year celebrating everything new. And as such, tradition dictates that Easter attire also be new. However, you might want to consider what your party activities will be. If you and your friends are planning on playing outside where clothes can get spoiled or torn, then it might be a good idea to state “Casual” on your invitations. Otherwise, if you intend to be well behaved, simply stating “Appropriate to Easter” will suffice.
Need some ideas for easter decorations?
Well, if so, then just have a look at the list below for some great
ideas. If you need any of the items or materials required, simply pop
down to the appropriate retailer in your area or have a look on the
internet.
Easter Egg Message: Using our Paper Mache Easter Egg Invitation instructions, make a couple of Easter eggs to spell out an easter message. In stead of painting the invitation details on them, simply paint a letter from your message. An example would be “Happy Easter” - requiring 11 eggs, each bearing a letter of the message.

Easter Trees
Ask your mom or dad to dress up as the
Easter bunny and wait at the door. As your friends arrive, the Easter
bunny should welcome them and announce them to the rest of the
guests.
Here are a couple of ideas favors that you'll be able to make yourself or buy from your local retail store. And remember, if you haven't used any of our invitations, they'll do quite nicely too.

Below you will find some activities for your Easter party. You may
use and change these ideas to suit the theme of your party. And just
in case you need any of the items required to make the game work, be
sure to ask your parents to help you get them from the appropriate
store in your area. Other than that, remember to put safety first.
What would Easter be without a hunt for hidden eggs? For this activity you'll need quite a number of small Easter eggs (maybe chocolate) as well as a big Easter egg or even an Easter bunny (or any other 'treasure' worth hunting for).
Now, ask your parents to hide the biggest of the treasures where no one will be able to find it too easily. Using the small Easter eggs, they should lay one true trail to the big treasure and many false trails.
Finally, all kids should be divided into teams and go on a treasure hunt (remember, you're not allowed to know where the treasure is either!).
If your parents want to make things a bit more interesting, they
could place trivia questions with each of the small eggs that have to
be answered first before you're allowed to move on.
If you've got a basketball hoop, then all you'll need for this game
is a football or a rugby ball. For that added Easter touch, decorate
the ball with some Easter colors and get ready to play Easter
basketball!
First off you'll need to make an Easter egg bowling ball for this activity. Use either a football, a rugby ball or a paper mache ball that you made yourself. Next, get your hands on about ten empty plastic soft drink bottles and fill them with sand. Once done, arrange them in a triangle and get ready for Easter egg bowling!
This is a fun activity that can be enjoyed by as many people as possible. For this activity all you'll need is an Easter egg (either one made of chocolate or even one made out of paper mache).
When everything's ready, get one of your friends to sit on a chair beneath which the Easter egg was placed and close their eyes. Now one of the other children should sneak up, steal the egg and return to his or her seat. Once the thief is part of the crowd again, everyone must say “Bunny! Bunny! Your egg is gone!”.
At this stage the bunny must turn around and has to guess who stole the egg.
If you want to ensure that your Easter party is as authentic as possible, then be sure to ask your parents to help you make or buy any of the following:
Foods
Hard-boiled eggs
Hot Cross Buns
Pastries
Pretzels
Roast Lamb
Ham
Chocolates
Cakes
Drinks
Chocolate milk
Hot Chocolate
Fruit Punchs
