Table of contents

Introduction

It's time again to party and what better party to have than one themed according to one of the most well known superheroes in the world... Spiderman. Below you will find all the tips and information you will need to organize successful Spiderman party for you and your friends to enjoy. But before we begin, just a little more about the character of Spiderman.

The story starts off with Peter Parker, an orphan living with his aunt and his uncle in New York City. And just in case you didn't know, he was a brilliant teenage scientist too which often resulted in him being bullied at school. But one day while at a science fair, Peter gets bitten by a radio active spider that managed to escape from its box. As a result of the bite, Peter becomes incredibly strong with the additional abilities to climb walls and jump very long distances. This is the emergence of the character we know as Spiderman.

Now, as you may know Peter is also capable of shooting webs from his wrists. In some versions of the story, this is an additional side-effect of the spider bite while others maintain that he used his brilliance in science to construct devices to do the job for him. What do you think?

Nevertheless, the story continues where Spiderman becomes a TV star with the aid of his abilities. While at the studio one day, Peter is confronted by a man who is robbing the studio but refuses to subdue him with the result that the thief escapes. While Peter maintains that it is the job of the police to catch the criminals, the man he let escape ends up murdering Peter's uncle Ben no more than a week later. From that day onward, Spiderman becomes the vigilante we all know and love.

And that being said, it is time to get your Spidey pen and notebook out and start organizing the ultimate Spiderman party!

Spidey Logo Design

A simple yet very cool invitation is the Spidey logo design. For this you will need a computer loaded with the appropriate software, a printer and of course a Spiderman logo. In addition, it might be a good idea to use a template for your invitation as this will assist with the layout.

Once you have everything, position the Spiderman logo (that you have scanned or downloaded from the internet with the appropriate permission) onto the front of the card along with the name of your party. Be sure to use the correct font as to keep in line with the theme of your party.

Now on the inside of the design you can either have some Spiderman sketches to resemble a comic book page or anything else of your choice that you think appropriate. Remember to add all the details of your party to ensure that your friends are fully informed. Once you have done everything, simply print your cards (on some cool glossy paper) and get ready to deliver them.

Spiderman Party Activities

There’s nothing like a good party activity to ensure that a great time is had by all. Below are a couple of ideas which you can use and change as you want to suit the purposes of your party.

Ball of Web

For this game you will need to have a small soft ball like a squash ball and wrap it in white wool. Once you have the ball, the game can be started.

One person has to be selected as Spiderman while the others are pretend criminals (just for the game). Spiderman has to use his web ball to hit the criminals with it. As soon as he hits a criminal, the criminal joins his team and they have to work together to hit the other criminals with the ball of web. Now, there are a couple of rules applicable:

  1. Only Spiderman is allowed to handle the ball with any part of his body.

  2. All the criminals are allowed to handle the ball, but only using a single or both fists.

  3. The last person to be hit with Spiderman's ball of web will be Spiderman for the next round.

Follow Spidey

This is a typical game of follow the leader, but with the front Spiderman being the leader. And just in case you don't know how the game works, here's a quick run through:

One person is selected to be the front Spiderman and everyone has to stay behind him in single file. Now, whatever Spiderman does everyone else has to do. This means that if he runs, tumbles, jumps or slides, then everyone else has to do that too. To ensure that everyone abides by the rules, ask a parent to watch out for anyone that doesn't do as Spiderman does. The first person to be eliminated from the game (by not doing what Spiderman does) will have to be the person who watches for the next round. The last person to stay with Spiderman becomes the next Spiderman to be followed.

Spiderman Leap

If you know a little bit about Spiderman, you will know that he has the amazing ability to jump really, really far. And that's exactly what we will be testing in this game!

For this game you will need about seven towels, unevenly spaced apart, but with the outer two about 5 or 6 feet apart (the towels need to be rolled as thin as possible and parallel to each other). Now, you and your friends will need to run in a straight line through the towels, jumping over each one and taking care not to touch one with your foot and placing only one foot between any two towels. Once everyone has had a go, the middle towel should be removed after which everyone should have a go again. The game carries on by removing a towel every time all the players have been through (except the outer towels). The winner is the person to manage the last jump.

Just note that if someone touches a towel or uses more than one of their feet between any two towels, they are out.

Spiderman Reenactment

How well do you know the story of Spiderman? If you think you and your friends are Spiderman experts, take turns to reenact some of the most famous scenes from any Spiderman movie. If there are enough from you, why not divide into two groups and judge each other's performance?

Food & Drink

As we all know Spiderman was Peter Parker in real life and ate normal foods as we do. But for the purposes of your party, why not prepare certain dishes and give them special Spiderman names.

Here are a couple of ideas:

  • Meatballs: The Hobgoblin's Brain

  • Pizza: Spidey's Super Food

  • Cupcakes: Sandman's Eyes

  • Liquorice strings: Evil Spidey's web

  • Spaghetti: Dr. Octopus' Tentacles

As for drinks, why not mix and match your own Spidey juice using fizzy soda and ice cream? Other than that, be creative and think of as many different drinks to mix with your friends.
