If you think you have some hidden superpowers, then this party is especially for you! Superman has long been the hero of many men, women and children and continues to capture the imagination to this day. And as such, it will only be fitting to have your very own Superman-themed party. Below you will find some tips and information which you can use to help organize your party to ensure that you and your friends have the best possible time. But first, a little bit more about our caped hero...
Known as "The Man of Steel", "The Last Son of Krypton" and "The Man of Tomorrow", Superman hails from a different planet than our own. To be more precise, he comes from Krypton, a planet far, far away and was sent to earth by his father Jor-El before his home planet exploded.
The child Superman is found by a Kansas farmer and his wife who raise him as their own and call him Clark Kent. After attending school and university, he joins the Daily Planet and falls in love with fellow reporter, Lois Lane.
Superman was created by American writer Jerry Siegel and Canadian artist Joe Shuster in 1932. The first Superman comic appeared in 1938 and was later adapted for radio, television, computer games, etc.
And that being said, it's time for us
to get going on organizing our super Superman party!
Below you will find some useful ideas
for Superman Party invitations. Should you require any of the
materials or items necessary, just ask your parents to help by
purchasing them from a retail store in your area or from the
internet. And remember, including the following information in your
invitation will ensure that your guests will have all the information
they need.
Party Name: Be sure to give your party a super name. Think of “Mike's Super-Duper Superman Bash”

To make a superman poster you will need a computer loaded with the appropriate software as well as a printer.
Using an image editing program, arrange the images you want to use appropriately to resemble a Superman film. Use your party name as the title and the invitation details as the credits. To add a personalized twist to the poster, replace Superman's face with your own!
When you are finished with the poster,
simply have it printed and get ready to deliver it. Keep in mind that
if you want to make actual size superman posters you will probably
have to pay a visit to a printing store that has the appropriate
printing equipment and paper.
We all know that Superman doubled as a normal citizen too - Clark Kent, who worked as a reporter for the daily planet. For this invitation you will need to create your own custom news paper clipping (preferably the front page) with an appealing headline like "Superman Announces Secret Gathering" or "Superman Bash Details Unveiled".
Ask your parents to help you compile an article that will reveal all the details of your party to the people you wish to invite.
When your invitation is done, simply
have it printed (on newspaper paper, if possible) and get ready to
deliver them to your friends.
From your local toy store, get a Superman action figure for each of your friends. Once you have all the action figures, attach a small paper-based invitation to the figurine with all the details of your party on it.
As with any superhero party, all you will need to do is state the name of the superhero under the “Dress Code” section of your invitation. In this case it will obviously be “Superman”. And if your friends don't have their own Superman uniforms, all they will need to do is to ensure that they have a Superman emblem on some piece of their attire.
The dress code for girls can either be
Superwoman (Kara Jor-El) or Lois Lane.
Make your superman party as authentic
as possible by decorating it appropriately. If you aren't planning on
making the decorations yourself, just ask your parents for help when
trying to buy it from your local superman merchandise retailer or
from the internet.
Paper mache Superman emblem – Make a giant Superman emblem for your party. This can either be positioned or hung somewhere in the venue or be placed outside the front door.
Superman Banner – If you don't think a paper mache emblem will be appropriate or sufficient, then just make or buy a Superman banner to hang outside so that all your Superman friends will know where the party is at.
Life-size Superman – Available from all Superman merchandise retailers, be sure to have at least one life-size cardboard Superman somewhere at your party venue.
Superman Tablecloth
Superman Cups & Plates
Crystals – As seen in Superman's Fortress of Solitude in the antarctic or green for Kryptonite

As Superman was a lonely character,
there aren't any formal introductions necessary here. However Clark
Kent would have rather politely introduced his friends to one
another and ensure that everyone got along.
Party favors are those super little
gifts that you give your friends to ensure that they are reminded of
your party in the days and weeks to come. As such it pays to ensure
that they are useful. Here are a couple of ideas for party favors
which you can either buy from your local Superman merchandise
retailer or from the internet.
Posters
Key Chains
Capes
Mugs
Superman Patches
Wallpaper
Stickers
Dog tags
Belt buckles
Rings
The best part of any party is the
activities that everyone will be able to enjoy together, Below you
will find a couple that we pulled out of our hat and customized for
this party theme.
Time for a game of Follow Superman! And if you don't know how to play it, then here's how:
The game is centered around the old 'Follow the Leader' game, but with a few changes. First off, design a course for you and your friends to complete in your follow the leader game. Remember to include a couple of jumps, leaps, skips, crawls etc. in the course so as to keep it interesting. If you really want to make things enjoyable, add a story to it with a couple of goals to complete.
On the day of the party, you and your friends should form a single file line, with the person at the front being the first superman. Everyone should then run in a straight line behind the leader and do as he or she does. Those that don't do exactly as the leader does, are out of the game for the current round.
Now, even though Superman might never get tired, we understand that
as Supermen in training, you and your friends might be exhausted of
being the leader all the time. As such the leader can call out
“Superman!” at any time when he or she gets a bit tired. At this
stage the person second in line becomes the leader and the original
leader drops to the back of the line (this way everyone gets a chance
too).
As you may know, Superman can jump very far! And this game will test just that. Now, to begin with you will need a couple of towels. In theory you need about 7 but then again you can have as many as you want. Once you have the towels, roll them as thin as possible and lay them parallel to each other, with a bout a foot between each other. The distance between the outer two may only exceed 7 feet if you have more than 7 towels.
The game is played by each person running over the towels, without touching them and at any time only have one foot between any two towels (thus no hopping from foot to foot). After everyone has gone once, a towel has to be removed from the lineup. As the towels get removed, you will see it gets harder to complete the course.
Those who touch towels with their feet or who at any time has more
than one of their feet between any two towels, is out.
As you know Superman has X-ray vision and also has the abilities to shoot lasers from his eyes to burn obstructions away.
For this game you will need to cut a piece of paper into as many little pieces as there are participants and mark one with an 'S'. All these little scraps of paper then have to go into a hat or bag from which each person is allowed to draw one scrap of paper. The person who draws the paper with the 'S' on is the real Superman, but has to keep it a secret.
Now, everyone has to sit in a circle and stare at the eyes of
everyone else, because you will only be able to spot the real
Superman when he winks at someone else. If you are watching someone
and he or she winks at you, then you are out and not allowed to
reveal their identity. However, if you suspect someone of being
Superman, then you have to shout “Superman!” first and then point
out the one you suspect of being the winking Superman. If you are
right, then the game starts again. If you are wrong, you are out.
What would a Superman party be without
some Superman films to be enjoyed by all? Go to your local DVD store
and rent or buy all the Superman movies you can get to enjoy a
Superman marathon with them (if your parents agree, you can make a
weekend of it and have your friends stay over!).
Tricky one this, as Superman didn't eat or drink – he got his energy from the Sun. But then on the other hand, Clark Kent had to eat and drink to blend in with everyone else. What do you suppose he ate?
For the purpose of your party you can have anything you like (or that your parents allow you to have) and give it special Superman names. Here are a couple of ideas:
Chips: Super Slips
Dip: Super Slips Coating
Baked Potato: Superman's Bicep
Cake: Lois Lane's Favorite
Burritos: Lex Luthor's Brain Power
Burgers: Titano's Muscle
And as for drinks, why not mix your own Super juice to give you ultra strength and speed? Think of using fruit juice, sports drinks and soda. And just to make things everything, add some ice cream to the soda!
