Days until Halloween: 58
"A long time ago, in a galaxy far
far away..." - does this sound familiar? If so then you're at
the right place because this is the page where we will show you how
to organize your very own Star Wars party. Below you will find a
couple of tips and bits of information to help you get started on the
organization process. However before we get to that, here are a
couple of things you may not have known about Star Wars:
The Star Wars opening crawl was co-written by the director of Scarface, Brian de Palma.
Anthony Daniels, who played C-3PO, was injured when one of the suit's leg plates fell off and injured him in the foot.
Endor (home planet of the Ewoks) is the Elvin word for "Middle Earth" in J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings.
The Return of the Jedi was originally titled The Revenge of the Jedi. But can you guess why they changed it? If you're thinking that revenge is not part of the Jedi code, then you are absolutely right.
The Jedi Code is:
There is no emotion, there is peace
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge
There is no passion, there is serenity
There is no death, there the force.
Anthony Daniels(C-3PO) and Kenny Baker(R2D2) are the only actors who have been part of all six Star Wars films.
Darth Vader was played by three people:
David Prowse - The Body
James Earl Jones - The Voice
Sebastian Shaw - The Face (behind the mask)
James Earl Jones and David Prowse have never met - David Prowse did the all the lines, but James Earl Jones' voice was dubbed over.
The reason why James Earl Jones was the voice of Darth Vader was because Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher started calling Darth Vader when voiced by David Prowse "Darth Farmer" due to his accent.
"Vader" is Dutch for "Father" (though not pronounced in the same way as when saying "Darth Vader").
And now, it's finally time to get
started on the party organization, so get your notebook and a pen and
get ready to take some notes.
Below you’ll find some ideas for
Batman-themed party invitations which you are free to use to persuade
your guests to come. Should you need any of the materials and/or
equipment, just pop down to the appropriate supply store. Just be
sure to include the following details as to ensure that your guests
will have all the information they need.
Party Name: Give your party a cool name like “Fred’s Jedi Rumble”
Salutation
Date & Time
Venue/Location

Additional information…
Everyone who loves Star Wars has to have a Star Wars coffee mug! As such the Star Wars mug will not only make a brilliant invitation, but also a very welcome gift (who'd say no to a mug? It's one of those things you can never have enough of).
To start off, you will need a number of mugs - one for each friend. These can be bought with Star Wars decorations already printed on them, but if you will be making your own Star Wars design, be sure to get some blank ones. Now, even if your mugs are already decorated, you will be needing a suitable design for all the party invitation details anyway. To this end you might want to consider using some software template on your computer that will be able to do the job. If you are stuck for all the details necessary for your invitation, just have a look above.
Finally, you will need to get in contact with someone who will be able to print on the mugs for you. If there is no one in your area, be sure to have a look on the Internet for an appropriate service provider.
And when all the mugs are done, it's time to don your Jedi or Storm Trooper outfit and get ready for delivery!
Want to supply your friends with a bit of humor? If so, then this invitation is especially for you. What you will need for this invitation is a computer and a printer, preferably one capable of printing on poster-sized paper. And you will also need a Star Wars poster image. This can either be one you downloaded from a website (with the necessary permissions) or one that you made yourself if you have the necessary graphic design skills.
Now, for this spoof poster you can use a range of ideas. These include blending the faces of your friends with those of the Star Wars characters so that your friends resemble people like Luke Skywalker, Yoda, etc. In addition you will have to edit out the current title and replace it with your party name as well as the credits at the bottom of the poster with your party details. Now, as there can only be a limited number of characters on a poster, you will have to design one for each of your friends (with each friend's face featured on his or her poster).
Once that's done, get it printed and
get ready to deliver! If you don't have a printer capable of printing
on poster-sized images, then you might need to get in touch with a
printing firm either in your area or on the Internet capable of doing
the job.
Everyone who loves Star Wars loves lightsabers! For this invitation you will need to get your hands on a lightsaber for each of the friends you wish to invite. These can be bought from your local Star Wars merchandise retailer or from the appropriate retailer on the Internet. In addition to the lightsabers you will have to buy or design a card-based invitation for each of your friends.
Once done and when you've completed the invitations with all the necessary details, attach the invitations to the lightsabers and get ready to deliver!
This area needs little explanation as
the dress code for a Star Wars party is… Star Wars. However, if you
plan on taking a different route with your party such as an exclusive
Dark Side or Jedi Council gathering, then be sure to state it as such
on your Invitations.
To set the theme for your Star Wars
party you will have to think about the decorations and how you will
apply them to your venue. If you don’t already have them, have a
look at our list for a couple of ideas. These can be bought from your
local Star Wars merchandise retailer or from the Internet.
Life size stand ups - virtually all the various Star Wars characters can be bought in this form.
Candles
Banners (Depending on which version of Star Wars your party will be)
Darth Vader helmet - as a centerpiece
Confetti
Balloons
Streamers
Planets (make some using paper mache molded around a balloon)
Have a look on the internet for a Yoda translator and translate a couple of greetings into Yoda. Otherwise why not ask your friends to iterate the Jedi code.
For those who haven’t used the light
sabers as invitations, why not use them as party favors for your
themed Star Wars party? And if you haven’t used the mugs either,
then consider them too. Here are a couple of additional ideas:
No Star Wars event is complete without a Star Wars movie marathon. Sure, you've seen them all, but then again, why not again? There's nothing like too much when it comes to Star Wars!
But just in case you are new to the whole Star Wars movie thing, here are the titles you will need to get for your Star Wars movie marathon:
Episode I: The Phantom Menace
Episode II: Attack of the Clones
Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
Episode IV: A New Hope
Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
Once you have the movies, be sure to
get loads of popcorn and drinks too so that your guests will have
something to chew on!
Know your Star Wars do you? Well, we'll see with the Star Wars movie trivia!
For this activity you will obviously need some questions and answers which you can either compose yourself using materials at your disposal such as books and the Internet or a Star Wars quiz box set. The latter you will be able to buy from most Star Wars merchandise retailers in your area or on the Internet.
Last but not least, when it's time for
the activity to start, divide your guests into groups - those with
little knowledge on the subject along with those who you know to be
strong contenders. This will make for a balanced game where everyone
will stand an equal chance of winning.
No doubt you and your friends will be wearing your Star Wars uniforms (be it Vader, Storm troopers, Yoda, Skywalker, etc.) to the party. As such, why not put them to some thespian use? We are of course implying that an impromptu Star Wars performance be just the thing for you and your friends to do as one of the main events of the party.
Now, what you could do before the party is to come together with all the friends you know will be there and discuss a possible scenario with them, just so they know. Otherwise one of your friends will have to take the stage initially and provide some points from which the others will be able to take their leads.
As this is an activity that will have
everyone in stitches, it might be a good idea to have a video
recorder ready to capture the event. The video can then be used as a
party favor for all those who attended.
To play this game you will need... a lot of balloons (at least one per person playing) all filled with water! In addition you will have to get some awkward gloves, oven mitts or scarves (to be wrapped around hands).
The game is started with two people standing a couple of feet from each other and both are wearing the gloves/oven mitts/ scarves. The object is to pass the balloon between them, without dropping it. As soon as three passes between the two individuals have been completed, each person has to take a step back. The one to drop the balloon is eliminated from the current round. If a bad pass is made (and everyone is unanimous on the subject), then that person instead of the one dropping it is eliminated from the round.
For more people to play this game you
will have to start in a small circle and toss the balloon either
clockwise or anticlockwise.
While we don’t believe that they have
burgers on Tatooine, there’s nothing that says you can’t enjoy
modern earth foods and drinks. Since you know what your friends like,
we’ll leave it up to you to decide, however we will recommend a
couple of dishes (if you require any recipes, be sure to look on the
internet).
Mini pizza
Nachos
Tuna pasta salad
Cheesy nacho platter
BBQ Burgers
Sausage Rolls
Pizza Bases
